Dear First-Year Students:

It is very important that you take the courses needed for your degree. This will help you complete your course requirements on time as well as help you graduate as soon as possible. Therefore, it is very important for you to work closely with your counselor/academic advisor.

In addition to English, math, science and other required courses, there are also technical courses that you must take in the correct order.

For these reasons, NTID has placed a "Dean's Hold" on the registration of all first-year students. This will prevent you from registering for winter quarter. You must meet with your counselor/academic advisor to discuss your winter quarter schedule. After you and your counselor/academic advisor develop your schedule, your counselor/academic advisor will notify me that you have met and I will remove the hold. This will allow you to register for winter quarter starting on Wednesday, October 28, registration day for all first-year students.

If you do not meet with your counselor/academic advisor before Wednesday, October 28th, I will not remove your hold and you will not be able to register for winter classes. This may result in some classes you need being closed. Also you may not get into classes at the time that you want.

Please meet with your counselor/academic advisor between October 7th and October 27th to avoid problems during registration. The earlier you meet with your counselor/academic advisor, the better. NTID is committed to your success and we want you to have the very best opportunity to graduate with your degree.

Sincerely,

Ken Hoffmann, Chairperson NTID Arts & Imaging Studies
